Breathe

January 12, 2011 Leave a comment

In 1941 Thomas Kelly, author of  the book titled, A Testament of Devotion, wrote the following quote about his life:

”We have hints that there is a way of life vastly richer and deeper than all this hurried existence, a life of unhurried serenity and peace and power.  If only we could slip over into that Center!”

It appears every generation may feel like they live their lives in a hurry.  I am taking time to breathe and I am also enjoying reading the book titled, Breathe – Creating Space for God in a Hectic Life, by Keri Wyatt Kent who quoted Thomas’ hurried statement in her introduction.

Take time to breathe by taking a break from the Structural part of your brain and just wait until tomorrow to check something off your never ending “to-do” checklist.   Take 30 minutes to do something you enjoy doing like writing a blog or return a friends phone call or e-mail to just say hello.

Research shows that learning something new every day is good for your brain so I invite you to take The Brain Quiz from the Science Channel http://tinyurl.com/37q5d54 to learn a few new brain words today.  For example, the Corpus Callosum is defined as the nerve fibers that connect the right and left hemispheres of your brain.
