Goshawk Landing

Learning something new every day is good for your brain as it helps to keep your brain young.

This morning I was expecting to see hummingbirds on my porch and I was surprised to see a big bird making himself at home on my porch railing.  I was able to watch the bird for about 6 minutes, so after observing his features, I did some research on this particular bird.  I was happy to learn my porch visitor was a Northern Goshawk which is the largest bird of prey (accipiter species) found in North America.

It is fun to learn something new every day like learning about a particular bird or a new feature on your iPhone, iPod, iPad or even your brain.  I invite you to do some research on the myelination process of your brain.  Cool stuff and again it is just fun to learn something new every day.  I wonder what type of bird will be coming to visit my porch tomorrow.
